Say Yes To Opportunity Even When You’re Scared
Have you ever did something that your immediate reaction was to say no and then you had so much fun doing it? This is exactly what happened to me. A couple of months ago an acquaintance online was putting together a virtual summit and asked me to participate. My first response was an absolute “No!”
Then came the doubts, “Who will listen?” “I haven’t been in this niche long enough to give advice.” — these thoughts kept coming, but I decided to do it anyway.
Has this ever happened to you? You didn’t participate in something because you were scared. Being scared is natural when you haven’t done it before. The thing with fear is that most of it – you bring on yourself. The more you put yourself out there – the less afraid you’ll be. That is the key.
After I contacted the organizer and told him I would participate I tried not to think about it. After that I could not think of what to talk about. In fact, it wasn’t until a few days before that a great presentation idea came to me.
During the time before I tried not to think about it or get too worked up about being on a live webinar for the first time.
The day came for my presentation and the morning had a little hiccup. Isn’t that always how it happens? I didn’t let this stop me.
The time came to login and talk to the organizer, so I did that. Then it was time to open it up and start talking. Was I scared? Yes, a little. Did I know what to say right from the beginning? No, but I worked through it and kept talking until I was on my subject.
I had a blast during the webinar and I taught people something that they can use for their business. I learned that not everything that you are scared of is that scary and my mind was definitely playing tricks on me.
I’d like to encourage you to say “Yes” to something that you’re scared of – you never know what the experience will do for you. You could connect with someone that is important to your business, you could find a talent that you didn’t know that you had and you enjoy or you could be the missing link that someone needs to succeed online.
This opportunity came to you, so make use of it and say yes.
Please share a time you were scared, but decided to do it anyway.
Have a great and productive day!
